Day 1.5: We Made It!

We Made It!

It's called day 1.5 because after a long day of flying, we were all so exhausted we forgot to check in! But we made it, we are here!
On the plane

The whole team met for the first time in person at the Houston airport. Then it was up in the air again to Managua, Nicaragua! After arriving in Managua, and sailing through customs...and attempting to coordinate locating one bag that decided to take the scenic route, we were ended our day with a beautiful devotion and team meeting then tucked in for the night at the Best Western in Managua. A beautiful hotel with amazing grounds and cozy rooms.    In the morning we were able to see even more of the beautiful grounds while we met for opening devotion and planning for the day ahead under a large tree on the plaza I by the pool. A quick (and tasty) breakfast...lots of ooh and ahhing over the coffee) we were on our way to the Hotel Montecarlo in Chinandega. Our home base for next week. Lunch as a group gave us even more time to get to know one another and reallly bond as we prepared to head out to the field for our first children's ministry session. We arrived at the church Cristo el Rey (Christ the King) in Realego to the welcoming applause of about 30 children eager to see what we had in store for them.
We sang songs. They were great singers so we sang lots of fun songs! Lillian taught a fun lesson about Jesus walking on the water.
Feet
We played a crazy game of Simon Dice (Simon Says) and then Bethel did had a great lesson of Jesus washing the disciples feet. We even had Pastor play the part of Jesus...it was beautiful!   We could not have asked for a better group for our first day. We are thankful for God's guidance and protection in our travels, and excited for the work he has in store for us in the week to come! Please keep us in your prayers, and say a special prayer for our lost bag to find its way back to us. We are so grateful for all your love and support. Until tomorrow! Hasta Mañana, Buenas Noches!
