Excitement Builds as Packing Begins!

With under two weeks until departure, things are starting to come together! We are busy checking boxes to make sure we are prepared for the women and children we will be serving humbly in love.

nicaraguaProject Details

Our team will travel to several villages and hold one day retreats for the women there. Nicaraguan women are generally in leadership roles both in the home and in the church. Therefore, a proper understanding of God’s love, the importance of their influence on their children and others, and the desire to spread the Gospel are important to instill.  A take-home craft project for the women to reinforce the day’s lessons is always a favorite.  This team will also provide lessons, crafts and games for children (some mothers will likely bring their younger children to the sessions).

Church (Host) Information:

The Lutheran Church-Canada (LC-C) began a Nicaraguan mission in 1997 after receiving an invitation to share the gospel in the Central American nation. The first missionary to be called was Pastor Sandor Arguello, a Nicaraguan refugee. His first months were tough. But following Hurricane Mitch in 1998, people needed emergency help. The church responded. Arguello spread the Gospel, and God opened hearts and built a community of believers. In January 2008, Iglesia Luterana Sínodo de Nicaragua (ILSN) was born. Francisco Jose Peralta Mojica became the Mission Team Coordinator for the ILSN in March of 2012. He will be the volunteer coordinator for our team.
